The Wellbeing Festival is an event aimed at raising self-esteem and mental wellbeing in young people. It’s delivered in a fun, social and non-judgemental environment to help more students enjoy being physical active.

Supporting Emotional Wellbeing

We know that girls are less likely to enjoy being active, feel less confident about taking part and typically have lower wellbeing scores than boys.

Furthermore, the Growing up in North Yorkshire Survey tells us that schools have identified the need to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and resilience and a number of schools have had specific projects focussed on these aspects.

Utilising Commonwealth Games legacy investment, we were able to consult with young people to design an event with young people in mind.  The schools who took part were able to identify girls who aren’t typically sporty or who may have continued low engagement with physical activity through their school journey.

The Wellbeing Festival has previously been held at Dalby Forest and features team and individual activities curated to support, listen, engage and challenge pupils through a fun creative & interactive experience.
