Welcome to the information hub for the Harrogate School Games programme for 2023/24. For this academic year North Yorkshire Sport are working with Harrogate High School to provide the School Games programme. Your School Games Coordinator for the academic year is Georgina Horsham-Batley, who is a qualified teacher and based at our North Yorkshire Sport office.
School Games Offer
The School Games offer will look and feel different this year and will see less volume of events and activities. There will be no additional buy in package offered through the partnership for this year. The event calendar will be updated throughout the year, so keep an eye-out for any events that you may be interested in and there will be opportunity to sign up.
There is an increased impetus through the investment to focus on inequalities which is a shift away from the origins of the School Games. Previously, the School Games was focused on pathways and competition. The focus on reducing inequalities also means that the desired outcomes of the work may be broader than just being active, it may be about developing social skills or building resilience, for example.
We want to involve schools in helping shape the priorities and would like to invite you to find out more about the purpose of the School Games and to have your say on what the delivery could look like for upcoming academic year.
