On this page you will find links or resources that you can use at your club or setting.  These are open websites and training that anyone can access and we do not validate courses.  Where possible and appropriate the links and training are sport or physical activity specific.

About Children

NSPCC – Child Protection in Sport Unit | CPSU (

A specific part of the NSPCC that is the leader in child protection in sport – lots of free resources and reasonably priced training.

NYSCP – North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (

North Yorkshire partnership made up of professionals from police, health, local authority, voluntary and community sector, education and many more. They work together on local priorities.

CYSCP – City of York Safeguarding Children Partnership (

City of York partnership made up of professionals from police, health, local authority, voluntary and community sector, education and many more. They work together on local priorities.

Safeguarding In Sport Course | Survivor Led Safeguarding Training (

Safeguarding in Sport course using personal experience of abuse in a sports setting to highlight what can be done to prevent abuse from taking place. Alongside this unique survivor-led approach, the course will help you to recognise the best practices your sports club should follow to keep children safe.

Making Sport Safe (

Making Sport Safe is a short 6-module course that will show you the basics safeguarding and protecting children in sport. An important matter for all coaches in all settings.

Safeguarding Adults in Sport and Activity is a project funded by Sport England, Sport Wales and UK Sport to help National Governing Bodies, Active Partnerships, regional partnerships and sport and activity organisations to develop best practice in safeguarding adults.

NYSAB North Yorkshire Safeguarding Adults Board (

North Yorkshire Safeguarding Adults Board (NYSAB) has been set up to protect adults who may be at risk from abuse by promoting co-operation and effective working practices between different agencies.
