How does the FEAST funding work?

Every year North Yorkshire Together runs a grants programme to enable delivery of rich and diverse activities during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays for young people in extra need of care and support across North Yorkshire . Providers are welcome to apply for either a single holiday period or multiple, in one application.

Applications from voluntary, community, public sector and private organisations (including limited companies and self-employed freelancers) are welcome. This includes existing holiday activity providers, schools, youth groups, sports coaches, and more.

The funding should cover the cost of the eligible child’s place (including staff, premises, resources, and business costs) and of provision of nutritious meals. Given that costs vary greatly across different providers, there is no lower or upper limit for applications – however, generally the amounts equate to around £15-20 per child, per session (of four hours).

Support is available for providers throughout the application, funding and monitoring process, with bespoke training packages offered to all providers delivering on FEAST.
