North Yorkshire Sport Safeguarding Policies

North Yorkshire Sport is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and adults involved in sport and physical activity, putting safeguarding measures in place that reduce the likelihood of abuse taking place and by promoting good practice which helps protect everyone, particularly those at risk and vulnerable from harm.  We are accountable for activities that are provided by NYS and have a duty of care to discharge this responsibility to providers, projects that we fund, and commission.

In addition, we are committed to working in partnership with all agencies, at both the local and national level. We aim to ensure that training & education opportunities and safeguarding best practice is available to anyone delivering physical activity & sport in the county, those supporting opportunities and for participants themselves.
