I joined the North Yorkshire Sport team as an Admin Assistant in January 2024 following a 30 year career in North Yorkshire Police where I served across the county in various roles, rising through the ranks from Police Constable up to Superintendent.
Having had a few part time roles since retiring from the police, I have now found my ideal role, working for a great organisation with a wonderful team of people. It is the one organisation I have worked for, since leaving the Police, that I genuinely feel are committed to making a difference to people’s lives.
Outside of work I have a love of sport (more watching than participation!) and can be found watching Coventry City FC, Harrogate Town FC and Harrogate Rugby Club most weekends!
I do still play 5-a-side football, walking football and also have a passion for walking and running (on the very odd occasion!) My chosen charity is Prostate Cancer UK and I have taken part in The March For Men with sports presenter Jeff Stelling on four occasions as well as completing other challenges for the charity.
My favourite, and inspirational, quote is from Rob Burrow’s farewell “In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream”
You can contact me if you have any question or query about North Yorkshire Sport. If I don’t know the answer, I am sure I will be able to find someone who will!
