Our Summer 2024…

Our FEAST provision is designed to support at-risk young people during the Summer & Christmas Period

Our Summer Feast Project

A Great Success

The FEAST project, spearheaded by North Yorkshire, is designed to support at-risk youth during the Summer Period. Targeting secondary school pupils, including those previously involved in the Stepping Up mentoring program, the initiative offers a safe and engaging environment led by  our professional Athlete Mentors. The Mentors provide guidance and facilitate various activities, including gym sessions, kickboxing, yoga, table tennis, karate, football, pickleball, and arts and crafts.

Workshops like Leaders Unlocked (covering online safety, drugs, and county lines), a fire VR workshop, and AMP music workshop further enriched the program which were led by professionals from these services.

By collaborating with trusted community partners, North Yorkshire showcases its commitment to professional, impactful youth engagement, ensuring hard-to-reach students find meaningful support and connection during a critical time.

North Yorkshire Sport FEAST project returning this December, will support at-risk young people during the Christmas period. Participants, including those from the Stepping Up mentoring program or referred by community partners, will have the chance to engage in taster sessions such as gym, kickboxing, yoga, table tennis, and more.

Athlete Mentors will provide a safe space for secondary pupils to connect with like-minded peers and trusted adults.

By offering a familiar face and a range of enriching activities, FEAST aims to boost participation and provide essential support to those who are typically harder to engage. more info on FEAST activities can be found here FEAST Activities Archive – North Yorkshire Together
