Older Adults

North Yorkshire Sport believes that everyone should have the chance to take part in sport, physical activity, or movement opportunities regardless of age or ability.

The number of people aged 60 or over is expected to pass 20 million by 2030 according to the Office for National Statistics.

We know that as you get older you are more likely to become inactive for various reasons. Sport England research shows that 42 per cent of people aged 55 and over are inactive compared to 29 per cent of the adult population.

Get Moving

North Yorkshire Sport are currently commissioned to facilitate the Get Moving – home exercise programme for those adults aged 65 and over.
